Solution
The transformer is a device used to transfer electric energy from one circuit to another through electromagnetic induction, especially a pair of multiple wounds, inductively coupled wire coils that effect such a transfer with a change in voltage, current, phase, or other electrical characteristics.
Transformers are very efficient devices, although, small energy losses do occur in them due to four main causes:
1. Resistance of winding : - The low resistance copper wire used for the winding still has resistance and thereby contribute to heat loss.
2. Flux leakage:- The flux produced by the primary coil may not be all linked to the secondary coil if the design of the core is bad.
