There are transverse tubules which forms a part of the muscle fibres. There are ceratin transverse tubules which are associated with the cisternae. There are two structures of cisternae which are attached to the tubule. This makes a complex in which there are three components. This is known as the triad system. These are located in the skeletal muscles.
