A polynomial is an expression formed using variables, constants and mathematical operations.Let x be a variable, n be a positive integer and a ₀, a ₁, a ₂,…, a _n be constants (real numbers).

Then, p(x) = a ₀ + a ₁ x + a ₂ x ²+ …. + a_nx ⁿ is known as a polynomial in variable x. Its degree is n.

The polynomial whose coefficients are all equal to 0 is called a zero polynomial. The zero polynomial has a constant value 0. For a zero polynomial, the values of the coefficients a ₀ = a ₁ = a ₂ =…= a _n = 0.

∴ p(x) = 0 is a zero polynomial.

The degree of a zero polynomial is not defined.
