Solution

Dear Student,

A polynomial is an expression formed using variables, constants and mathematical operations.Let x be a variable, n be a positive integer and a 0, a 1, a 2,…, a n be constants (real numbers).

Then, p(x) = a 0 + a 1 x + a 2 x 2+ …. + anx n is known as a polynomial in variable x. Its degree is n.

The polynomial whose coefficients are all equal to 0 is called a zero polynomial. The zero polynomial has a constant value 0. For a zero polynomial, the values of the coefficients a 0 = a 1 = a 2 =…= a n = 0.

p(x) = 0 is a zero polynomial.

The degree of a zero polynomial is not defined.
