What is absolute value?

-13 +(-69)+57-(-89)-(53+(-49) ?

Open in App
Solution

  • In mathematics, the absolute value or modulus |x| of a real number x is the non-negative value of x without regard to its sign. eg: absolute value of -2 ie, |-2|= 2

13+(69)+57(89)(53+(49))

=1369+57+89(5349)

=1369+57+8953+49

First, take all the negative terms and then take all the positive terms and add them,

=(136953)+(57+89+49)

=135+195

=60
