The correct option is D $\frac{F}{m_{1} + m_{2}}$
At the time of maximum elongation spring will act like thread or mass less wire so,
F= m₁a+m₂a

= (m₁+m₂) a

∴ $a = \frac{F}{(m_{1} + m_{2})}$
