The pollutants released from the industries like sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides are mixed with water droplets present in the air causing acid rain.

Fading color of the Taj mahal:

  1. The acids present in acid rain react with the carbonates present in the marble and limestone of the taj Mahal.
  2. Air pollution around the taj mahal area is fading its color.
  3. The mathura oil refineries near agra releases gaseous pollutants such as sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides into the air which causes acid rain and damaging our heritage monument “Taj Mahal”.
