• Air pollution is the introduction of any harmful substance into the earth's atmosphere. These molecules are responsible for causing diseases, allergies and harm to the other components in the environment.
• The Supreme Court has asked the government of India to switch the type of public transport, i.e., buses, from diesel to compressed natural gas (CNG). CNG can be used in place of gasoline (petrol), diesel fuel and propane/LPG. CNG combustion produces fewer undesirable gasses. It is safer than other fuels in the event of a spill because natural gas is lighter than air and disperses quickly when released.
