Alcoholism is a severe form of alcohol abuse and involves the inability to manage drinking habits. Few of the ill effects of alcohol are as follows:
  • Alcohol can change the behaviour of a person and generate hallucinations, it may also lead to blackouts.
  • Drinking too much alcohol for a long term may shrink the frontal lobes of the body and may lead to alcohol dependence.
  • May affect the heart and lead to cardiovascular diseases.
  • Drinking too much alcohol can cause abnormal activation of digestive enzymes produced by the pancreas and cause pancreatitis.
  • Drinking too much alcohol effects the liver and increases risk for chronic liver inflammation and liver diseases.
