The type of interaction that occurs between two different species in which one species is harmed or destroyed and the other is unharmed or remains unaffected.
Two modes of amensalism are competition and antibiosis.
In competition mode, the stronger organism or the larger one excludes the weaker or small organism.
In antibiosis mode, in which one organism is killed or injured by the secretion of certain chemicals by another organism that remains unaffected throughout this interaction.
