  1. Galvanometer: A galvanometer is an electromechanical measuring instrument for electric current.
  2. When a low resistance is connected to a galvanometer parallelly it converts to the ammeter.
  3. This resistor is connected parallelly to move most current to in the shunting arm.

This is called an ammeter shunt.
