Amphibia includes animals which can live both on land or on water. These are the first chordate animals which came out of water but these are not able to live on land permanently , they depend on water for their reproduction.

Characteristics:

1) These are cold blooded or poikilothermal animal

2) Undergo hibernation or aestivation

3) Body is divided into head and trunk

4) Skin is moist, smooth and scales less

5) Mouth is bigger, teeths are pleurodont, homodont, and polyphyodont.
