Solution

Alloy:

An Alloy is homogeneous mixture of two or more metals, or a metal and a non metal.

It is first prepared by first melting the primary metal, and then, dissolving the other elements in definite proportion and then cooling them to room temperature.

Alloying improves the properties of a metal. We can get the desired properties of metals by Alloying.

Example : Solder - Lead and Tin (Pb and St)

Brass - Copper and Zinc (Cu and Zn)

Bronze - Copper and Tin (Cu and St)

Stainless Steel - Iron,Nickel and Chromium (Fe,Ni and Cr)
