Open in App
Solution

Define arithmetic sequence:

A sequence whose common difference between the consecutive terms is the same is known as an arithmetic sequence. Some of the examples of arithmetic sequence are 1,2,3,4,5,6; 5,10,15,20,25,30.

In first series, 1,2,3,4,5,6, the difference between any consecutive terms is 1, so it is an arithmetic sequence.

In first series, 5,10,15,20,25,30, the difference between any consecutive terms is 5, so it is an arithmetic sequence.

Thus, an arithmetic series is the series in which common difference between the consecutive terms is same.
