Unit of electric current:

1. According to the formula of electric current i.e $I=\frac{Q}{T}$ where Q= amount of charge flown and T= time.
2. The unit of charge (Q) is coulomb (C) and time is second (s).
3. The unit of current is $\frac{Coulomb}{second}=C{s}^{-1}$.
4. When 1 coulomb (C) of charge is flowing through an electric circuit in 1 second (s), then-current is said to be 1 ampere. i.e $1C{s}^{-1}=1Ampere$

Hence, the rate of flow of electric charge is called an electric current and its unit is ampere (A)
