A electric fuse is the safety device which is used to limit an electric current in the electric device.
A fuse is a small conducting wire made of special alloy that are of low melting point which protects the household electrical system from getting damaged by melting itself and thereby stopping the flow of current, due to unusual high current during a short circuit, power fluctuation in the electric line etc.
Characteristics:- 1. It has a low melting and boiling point. 2. It is a poor conductor of electricity. It has high resistance and uniform cross section area
