Aneuploidy is the presence of an abnormal number of chromosomes in a cell. There is an extra chromosome present in the case of Down's syndrome. The person bears three copies of chromosome 21 which is an autosomal chromosome. The symptoms of Down's syndrome are:
  • Speech disability
  • Short stature
  • Mental retardation
  • Skin folds
  • Displacement of the tongue
  • Congenital heart diseases
  • Vision disorder
