The membrane-bound organelle is present inside the cytoplasm of the cell next to the endoplasmic reticulum is known as apparato reticolare.
Apparato Reticolare are also known as Golgi apparatus.
It consists of flat sac-like structures called cisternae.
It is responsible for packaging, modifying, and transporting the proteins and lipids in form of vesicles to their desired destinations
Two poles of Apparato Reticolare:
Cis phase is the forming face located near the endoplasmic reticulum.
Trans phase is the maturing face which acts as the receiving face for proteins and lipids which are needed to modify and pack into vesicles
Functions:
The main function of the apparato reticolare packs the proteins and lipids into vesicles and dispatch the proteins and lipids from the endoplasmic reticulum to the cytoplasm of the cell.
They are also involved in post-translation modifications of proteins.
