Importance of ozone for the survival of humans:

  1. The small ozone layer on top of the stratosphere is very important for human survival.
  2. As it absorbs harmful ultraviolet radiations present in sunlight and prevents it from reaching the earth's surface.
  3. Ultraviolet radiation can cause many types of skin diseases like skin cancer.
  4. It is also harmful to living cells and plants.
  5. The ozone layer also keeps the earth warmth by trapping infra red radiations.
