What is basic difference between lense and mirror?

Lens is the one which refracts light andmirror reflects the light. In order to impose the picture over a specified screen( image sensor) in proper aspect ratio with minimized chromatic aberration, lenses are used. Butmirrors are used in viewfinder (onlybasic slr's)to reflect the image frm lensto viewfinder.
