Benzoylation is introduction of benzoyl group $(C_{6} H_{5} C O^{-})$ by replacement of $H^{-}$ attached to 'O' or 'N' or to aromatic nucleus.
The $- N H_{2}$ group of glycine reacts with benzoyl chloride to form benzoyl glycine also known as hippuric acid.
