Bio-diversity is the variety of organisms which include plants, animals, and microbes in a particular habitat.
The effects for the conservation of bio-diversity are as follows:
(1) In order to conserve bio-diversity, the government has stepped up 85 national parks, 447 wildlife sanctuaries in the country.
(2) Species that have been identified as threatened or particularly endangered or anyhow important for bio-diversity can be preserved in suitable locations outside their natural habitat.
(3) Seed banks are the most efficient and effective method of long-term storage of a large number of accessions of diverse orthodox seed species which could not be maintained at ultra low temperature (20oC) with reduced seed moisture.
