Blood is a connective tissue in which cells are suspended in a liquid extracellular matrix (plasma). Blood is a liquid that transports nutrients and oxygen to the different parts of the body and also collects waste materials from all parts of the body and delivers it to the excretory organs such as lungs and kidneys to be excreted out.
The composition of blood
1. Blood plasma- 54.3%. It contains proteins, amino acids, nitrogenous wastes, nutrients, gases, electrolytes.
2. Red Blood Cells-45%
3. White Blood Cells- 0.7 %
4. Platelets
