What is budding in animals?

Open in App
Solution

In animals like sponge and Hydra the body wall protrudes out an outgrowth called bud, which grows in size and develops a mouth at its free end. It detaches itself from the parent body, fixes the substratum and forms a new animal identical to the parent one.
