Silk is a kind of fiber that is obtained naturally from silkworms by a process called Sericulture.
Thus, silk is a natural fiber.
Artificial silk:
There is artificial silk also present which resembles the same property as that of natural silk, which is known as Rayon fiber.
Rayon is made artificially from wooden pulp or sometimes when made from bamboo then, they are called Bamboo silk.
Artificial silk is made in factories and can be processed at one time in bulk a requires less labour and effort whereas natural silk is obtained from an animal called silkworms and it takes a lot of skills and effort as well as time for processing and removes silk from them.
Artificial silk is much cheaper than natural silk.
Uses of artificial silk:
Rayon fiber is used in the medical field for surgical dressings and making bandages.
It is used in textile industries for clothing and other purposes.
