Solution
Gulf weed:
Gulfweed is an alga specifically named for
Sargassum
or holly sea.
It is a genus of about 150 species of brown algae.
It is used both as manure and fodder.
Sargassum species have highly branched thallus with hollow berrylike floats.
Most of these species reproduce sexually but species that are found in the pelagic form reproduce through fragmentation.
