Oxygen inhibits photosynthesis in C3 plants but C4 plant show little effect because C3 plants carry out photorespiration and high oxygen stimulates it. The rate of photosynthesis decreases with increase of concentration of oxygen and the phenomenon is called as Warburg effect.
