1. Camouflage is the built-in protection in the animals which increases their chances of survival by tricking predators.
2. Many tropical animals have sensitive hearing, sharp eyesight, thick skin and a skin colour which helps them to camouflage by blending with the surroundings. This helps them to protect themselves from predators.
3. Example: Leopard's spotted coat. Some animals, such as chameleons and octopuses, are capable of actively changing their skin pattern and colours, whether for camouflage or for signalling.
