  • Carbonization produces substances that can prove harmful and simple precautions should be taken to reduce risks.
  • The gas produced by carbonization has a high content of carbon monoxide which is poisonous when breathed.

Uses of carbonization:

  • It is used for the generation of charcoal from biomass.
  • It is used to produce biodiesel from ethanol and fatty acids.
