Solution

A cataract is a clouding of the lens in the eye which leads to a decrease in vision. Cataracts often develop slowly and can affect one or both eyes. Symptoms may include faded colors, blurry vision, halos around light, trouble with bright lights, and trouble seeing at night.

The intraocular lens (IOL) can be placed in three different places in the eye with almost 100% stability and permanence. The cataract is somewhat like a grape with a skin, a soft pulp, and a hard core. Modern cataract surgery opens the grape peel, breaks the hard pit into pieces, and sucks out the soft material, leaving an empty skin that we call the capsule.
