Centripetal force is defined as the force acting on the body moving in a circular path and is directed towards the centre around which the body is moving.

Mathematically, centripetal force is given by $F=\frac{m{v}^2}{r}$

where $r$ is the radius of circular path in which the body is moving and $m$ and $v$ are the mass and velocity of that body, respectively.
