A chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) is an organic compound that contains only carbon, chlorine, and fluorine used in refrigerants and in fire extinguishers. CFC reaches ozone layer and each chlorine molecule present in CFC break down one lack molecule of ozone. The amount of ozone in the atmosphere began to drop sharply. Causing harmful effect to living on earth. Thus use of CFCs has been phased out.
