Open in App
Solution

Dear Student ,

A civil war takes place when two community's or groups fight among themselves in a single country. When a violent conflict happens between the opposing groups within a country , it leads to Civil War.
In Sri Lanka there exists majority of Sinhalese , almost about , 74%, had introduced acts which made them superior over the Sri Lankan Tamils and the Indian Tamils. This created an alienation among the Tamil community in Sri Lanka. This led to many protests by the Tamilians who fought for their identity and recognition , which the Sinhalese refused .This led to a civil war where thousands of people from both communities died and the war had caused a terrible setback in their education, economic life and development in the country.
