Instructions:
- Define climate change
- List out and explain the causes of climate change
Answer:
Climate change is the change in the environmental conditions of the Earth. Due to climate change, global temperature is rising day by day.
Causes of climate change
Burning of fossil fuels: The vehicles used for transportation, the electricity used in the home, and the stove used for cooking get power through fossil fuels. Burning fossil fuels releases excessive greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, ultimately increasing Earth's temperature.
Rapid industrialisation: Excessive consumption of fossil fuels in various industries leads to the emission of an enormous amount of greenhouse gases, thereby warming the global environment.
Deforestation: Humans clear millions of acres of forests every year for commercial needs. As a result, carbon dioxide does not get absorbed into trees. This causes an increased level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, ultimately increasing the global temperature.
Agriculture: Various farming activities produce greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane, which add to the atmosphere and increase the earth's temperature.
