Spectrum:
When a beam of white light is passed through a prism, it gets split into a band of seven colors. This band or combination of seven colors is known as a spectrum.
It comprises violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red commonly known as VIBGYOR.
The difference in color is because of different wavelengths. A sequence of these light-rays in increasing or decreasing order of wavelength/frequency is known as the spectrum of light.
