Question

What is compaction in the human development?

Open in App
Solution

The morula (stage of embryonic development in humans) is referred to the ball of 16 cells which are formed from the repetitive cleavage of the zygote. During this stage, the differentiation starts among the cells. The outer cells begin to flatten out and the inner cells attach firmly to each other. This process is known as compaction where the tight junctions are formed between the cells.
