Corsets were tightly fitted inner bodice worn by women to develop their body figure and shape.Women reacted against it because corsets caused illness and physical deformities among young girls.It restricted the natural growth of the body and affects the blood circulation.Muscles remained under developed and spines became bent.
Corsets gave better shape and size to women body and such women were considered as graceful and elegant.It created a different image for the Victorian women.
They had to wear corsets to look attractive and more womanly which was a norm of the society for young girls.
