Pollination refers to the transfer of pollen grains from the anther of a flower to the stigma of either the same or different flower. Pollination is mainly of three types namely: Self-pollination (autogamy), Cross-pollination( Xenogamy), and Geitonogamy.
Cross-pollination is the type of pollination that involves the transfer of pollen grains from the anther of a flower to the stigma of a flower that is genetically different.
Flowers have some adaptations that help them to promote cross-pollination.
Abiotic and biotic agents are required for cross-pollination to take place.
