Question

What is definition of mixture

Open in App
Solution

Mixture is a physical combination of two or more substances such that the individual identites are retained. It is different from a chemical compound because physical properties of constituent substances are changed permanently. For example, a solution of salt and water is a mixture but water as well as salt are chemical compounds and not mixtures. Water is a chemical combination of hydrogen and oxygen and its physical properties are entirely different from its constituents.
