Adolescence:

  1. Adolescence is a period of rapid hormonal and physical changes in the life of an individual.
  2. It is also known as puberty.
  3. It occurs during 13-15 years of age.
  4. Adolescence marks various changes in a male body like the appearance of pimples, formation of Adam's apple, increased growth of pubic and facial hair, increased muscles, higher levels of androgens, and growth of secondary sexual organs.
  5. Higher levels of androgens and increase in secondary sexual features, the appearance of pimples, and increased facial and pubic hair growth in females are similar to that in males.
  6. Along with these some other signs of adolescence in females are the Deposition of fat in thighs and breasts, development of mammary glands, and menstruation.
