Open in App
Solution

Any physical quantity occupies certain space, this space of three dimension (x,y,z),therefor the difference is clear, you are a physical quantity, you occupy certain space with width, depth and height i,e, of dimensions(x,y,z).Saying mass of 1 gm,gm is its unit om measurement, but its dimensions are its height, width and depth(x,y,z).The dimensions of a room are( x,y,z).

Quantifying is putting a number on something. The dimension (this meaning) or ‘unit of measure’ of that dimension tells you what the number actually means. We sometimes use relative rather than absolute measures, like “an area half the size of the Amazon” though most (all?) units are actually relative to something real too.
