Question

What is difference between butane and n-butane.

Open in App
Solution

The term may refer to either of two structural isomers, n-butane or isobutane (also called "methylpropane"), or to a mixture of these isomers.
In the IUPAC nomenclature, "butane" refers only to the n-butane isomer .
So there is not much difference in it.
