what is difference between cell division and cell differentiation??

Cell division or cell proliferation is nothing but the multiplication of cells via mitosis/meiosis to give rise to daughter cells. On the other hand, during cell differentiation the newly formed cells are assigned a particular function in which they further specialize. This decides the cell fate and the kind it will develop into such as a muscle cell, a neuron or a liver cell and so on.
