What is difference between freezing and solidfication

Dear student,
The process in which anything which changes from liquid state to solid state by lowering the temperature or by cooling it is called freezing.
While in case of solidification the drop of temperature is not necessary
Usually we speak of solidification for metals and alloys at high temperatures.
