Open in App
Solution

Asexual reproduction:

  1. It is a type of reproduction that only involves a single parent.
  2. Mitosis and binary fission are both examples of asexual reproduction.
  3. Both mitosis and binary fission produce two daughter cells that are identical to each other.

Mitosis: It is a form of cell division that mainly occurs in higher-order organisms that are eukaryotes.

Binary fission: It is the form of asexual reproduction predominant in prokaryotes.

Mitosis

Binary fission

It is a type of cell division by which eukaryotic cells get renewed. For growth and repair in eukaryotes, mitosis is required.Binary fission is a method of asexual reproduction by which almost all prokaryotes reproduce.
It is a complex process. It is a simple process.
It takes place in four subphases,i.e. prophase, anaphase, metaphase, and telophase. It does not occur in phases.
In this process, chromosomes get replicated. In the case of binary fission DNA gets replicated.
