What is digested in rumen and recticulum of cattle.

Dear student,

The ruminants mainly feed on grasses which are rich in cellulose. So, rumen contains microbes which partially digest the cellulose and also, stores this partially digested food. In reticulum fibres, starch, proteins and sugar are fermented by the microorganisms.
