The process of producing two identical copies of DNA from one original DNA molecule during cell division is known as DNA copying. This process is also known as DNA replication. DNA copying generates variation during sexual reproduction which leads to evolution. Also, the copying of DNA helps in transfer of characters from parents to offsprings.
