What is Domain and Range of a Function?
Open in App
Solution
Domain
A function is a relation if and only if for every input value, there is only one output value.
The set of input values is called a domain.
The domain is the independent variable.
Range
It is the set of values corresponding to the domain for a given function or relation.
It is dependent on the domain.
In a function, there will be only one range value corresponding to a domain value.
The general form of a function is
y
=
f
x
where
x
is the domain and
y
is the range
