Seed dormancy is a condition when seed is not able to germinate under the normal environmental conditions. The conditions might be infavorable for germination like inappropriate water, light, tempertaure , gases, mechanical restrictions, seed coats and hormones. Abscisic acid (ABA) is the only hormone known to induce and maintain seed dormancy.
