It is a chromosomal disorder.
Langdon Down was the first to describe this condition.
Down's syndrome is characterized by an extra copy of chromosome 21.
Trisomy of chromosome 21 is another name for it.
Short stature, small round head, wrinkled tongue, and partially open mouth characterize the affected individual.
